Ready, Set, GOLD 2026: Bringing Active Ageing to Life Under the Bright City Lights!
As the sun set over Marina Bay, more than 4,000 partners, volunteers, seniors and families came together at Marina Bay Sands for Blossom Seeds’ Ready, Set, GOLD Charity Walk 2026. This was our first time organising an evening charity walk at Marina Bay Sands for our seniors. The sunset and city lights gave us a beautiful setting to share what active ageing can look like when a community walks together. It was an opportunity to enjoy an evening out, spend time with friends and family, and connect with people from across the community. Every step reminded us that ageing well is a journey we share.
We were honoured to welcome Guest-of-Honour Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, together with Ms Mariam Jaafar and Mr Ng Shi Xuan.
The evening also marked a new chapter for Blossom Seeds. AmCham Singapore’s Healthcare Committee officially adopted Blossom Seeds as its charity of choice, reflecting our shared commitment to a more caring and inclusive community. We also celebrated our continued partnership with Micron Singapore through the Micron Kampong initiative in Sembawang Central, which brings seniors and volunteers together through friendship, care and purposeful activities.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the more than 80 religious, agency, corporate, community and school partners who came together to support the Age Well and Live Well movements. Your generosity and support made the evening possible. Thank you for walking alongside our seniors and helping build a community where they can stay active, connected and purposeful.
The sunset walk was glittered with flash mob performances by seniors and youths, adding joy and energy to the evening. Seeing different generations perform together was a celebration of active ageing and the talents our seniors continue to share with the community. Interactive Booths, stage programmes, performers and booths gave participants more ways to celebrate, explore and connect throughout the evening.
It was close to 10pm when we sent off the last bus of our seniors. Our heartfelt thanks go to team who have worked tirelessly and smilingly in serving the seniors - Registratio Team, Group Bearers, Logistics, Ushers, Stage Management, Booths, F&B, Transport, Placards, Environmental, Group IC and many unseen hands that worked behind the scene to make this possible.
Among the 4,000 participants at the walk were Aunty Margaret, 83 and her neighbour Mr Fong, 78.
Aunty Margaret lives alone with chronic health conditions, she is frail, and for about a year our Medical Escort & Transport service has brought her safely to her medical appointments, while her Active Ageing Centre gave her back her peers and her confidence. Mr Fong, her neighbour who steps forward to accompany her is also a senior who has volunteered with MET for about two years and goes whenever he is free.
"It is meaningful to be able to help a friend in my neighbourhood." — Mr Fong, 78
Their story reminds us that RSG is more than a walk. It is a celebration of seniors coming out, staying connected, and blossoming together.
