Thank you 8视界新闻新加坡 8world News for sharing 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐎 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 through the Chingay Paper Wallet Making hands-on activity. A beautiful way to keep traditions alive, celebrate creativity, and strengthen community spirit

This project involved over 100 multi-racial seniors from different communities. On 6 Sep, it was held at VivoCity for the Chingay Paper Wallet Making activity and sharing of Chingay stories with kids and families joining in for a unique cross-generational cultural experience co-organised by People's Association, Mapletree Arts in the City and Blossom Seeds. For the first time, Chingay is brought into the community beyond the parade.

Seniors, kids and families crafted their own paper wallets, carrying creativity and warmth home to share Chingay memories with their families.

Madam Lee, 79, shared: “𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐢𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲.”

Let’s continue to pass on this cultural pride and intergenerational connection and reliving memories and joy through handmade creations
